About Us
The Muslim world today faces a profound crisis of governance. A century of colonial occupation, followed by the widespread adoption of foreign political systems, has eroded the traditions of Islamic governance that once defined our societies. In place of leadership rooted in Islamic principles, the Muslim world has inherited a patchwork of colonial autocracies, later replaced by constitutions and institutions that mimic Western models — frameworks alien to our values, designed for purposes often at odds with the aspirations of our people.
COMPASS brings together expertise in strategic planning, geopolitical analysis, and policy development. Our mission is to bridge the gap in Islamic political thought and practice, and to cultivate the ideas and strategies necessary to address the major challenges facing the Muslim world. We work to advance three critical pillars:
Integration:
The Muslim world is, by its nature, a single Ummah — artificially divided by borders and identities imposed by colonial powers. It is time to dismantle these constructs of division, and to forge a practical path toward greater integration, leading towards political unity.
Security:
The foremost duty of any state is to safeguard its people. Yet across the Muslim world, this responsibility has been compromised: borders have been opened to foreign military forces, and defense has been outsourced to imported technologies. We must rebuild our independent capacity for defense, securing our sovereignty against external threats.
Independence:
Many of the Muslim world’s rulers today serve foreign interests more readily than their own peoples. Foreign powers and agencies operate freely, sowing division and toppling governments at will. It is imperative to reassert political independence, restore authority to our own people, and dismantle the structures of external control.
